About Optus Glean UK

One national cleaning partner for every site you run

Optus Glean UK is a British-owned, nationwide commercial cleaning and facilities management company — the complete cleaning company, covering commercial, healthcare, transport, public and domestic sites across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Every operative is PAYE-employed and background-checked, work is delivered to a documented specification on a fixed monthly fee, and the company is fully insured. It trades as OPTUSGLEAN UK LTD, registered in England & Wales.

We are built as the national alternative to small, city-based cleaning firms. If you run sites in more than one town, you should not have to find, vet, and manage a different local cleaner in each — with no coverage outside their patch, no TUPE capability, and inconsistent vetting. Optus Glean UK gives multi-site organisations one contract, one standard, one account manager, and the same documented quality in Aberdeen as in Southampton.

The result is predictability across three things buyers care about: predictable cost (one fixed monthly fee, annual indexed review, no hourly billing), predictable presence (the site is cleaned every day it should be, with built-in named cover), and predictable accountability (one contract, one manager, documented method statements, risk assessments and COSHH data ready for inspection).

The Complete Cleaning Company

The sites other cleaners won't take on

Most commercial cleaners stop at offices and shops. We are built to cover the specialist and regulated environments that need documented standards — the verticals that are hardest to staff and hardest to get right.

Ambulance & emergency vehicles

Decontamination and deep cleaning of ambulances and emergency fleets to healthcare infection-control standards.

Supported living & domiciliary care

CQC-registered supported living, extra-care, and domiciliary care settings — cleaned to Regulation 15 and 12.

Hospitals & clinical settings

NHS and private hospitals, clinics, and dialysis units to the NHS National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2025.

Airports, bus & train stations

Terminals, depots, rolling stock and transport hubs — high-footfall environments cleaned around the clock.

Public & civic buildings

Schools, universities, councils, libraries, courts and places of worship, with the right vetting for each.

Domestic & residential too

HMOs, communal areas, landlord and letting-agent work, and Airbnb, Booking.com and serviced-accommodation changeovers.

National account management, TUPE-capable switching, and documented quality — the same in every town.
How It Works

From enquiry to a running contract in four steps

1. Free site survey

We visit the site (or every site in a multi-site brief), measure the areas, and understand your hours, access, and current arrangement. No charge, no obligation.

2. Written specification

You receive a documented scope — frequency, tasks, areas, consumables, and standards — so everyone knows exactly what is being delivered.

3. Fixed monthly quote

One fixed monthly fee against that scope, paid by Direct Debit, with an annual indexed review. No hourly billing, no hidden charges.

4. Mobilisation

A named primary cleaner and named relief are assigned, background-checked and inducted, with TUPE handled properly where staff transfer from your current provider.

Who We Clean For

Every building type, every sector

Commercial, healthcare, transport, public and domestic — the complete range, cleaned to the standard each one requires.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does commercial cleaning cost in the UK?
Commercial cleaning in the UK is normally priced as a fixed monthly fee against a defined scope, not by the hour. As a broad guide a small office contract commonly runs from around £400 to £1,500 a month, with larger or specialist sites (healthcare, industrial, food) higher because of frequency, staffing, and compliance. The single biggest cost driver is the wage floor: the statutory National Living Wage is £12.71 an hour (April 2026) and the voluntary Real Living Wage is £13.45 (£14.80 in London), which many tenders now require. Optus Glean UK quotes one fixed monthly fee after a free site survey, paid by Direct Debit, with no hourly billing.
Are your cleaners employed or subcontracted?
Every operative is PAYE-employed by OPTUSGLEAN UK LTD and background-checked before assignment — DBS-checked in England and Wales, and through the equivalent Disclosure Scotland or AccessNI schemes in Scotland and Northern Ireland. We do not use gig or self-employed labour. A directly-employed cleaner has guaranteed hours, statutory sick pay, holiday, and pension auto-enrolment, so the cleaning role is a proper job rather than a shift dropped when other work appears.
Do you clean ambulances and emergency vehicles?
Yes. Ambulance and emergency-vehicle cleaning and decontamination is one of the specialist verticals most commercial cleaners avoid. We clean to infection-prevention standards aligned with the NHS National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2025 and the CQC's infection-control expectations, using BICSc colour-coded equipment and documented decontamination method statements.
Can you clean supported living and domiciliary care settings to CQC standards?
Yes. We clean the full range of CQC-registered premises — care homes, supported living, extra-care and sheltered housing, domiciliary care offices, hospices, dialysis units and clinics — to CQC Regulation 15 (premises) and Regulation 12 (infection control), and to the NHS National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2025 (FR1–FR6 risk categories with the five-star audit rating). Operatives on these contracts hold Enhanced DBS checks.
Do you cover the whole UK?
Yes — Optus Glean UK is a nationwide company covering all four nations: England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. We are the national alternative to small city-based cleaners: one contract, one standard, and one account manager for every site, instead of a different local firm per location. Multi-site businesses do not have to juggle a separate contract in each city.
What happens if my cleaner is off sick?
Each contract is staffed on a named-primary-plus-named-relief model. When the primary cleaner is unavailable, the named relief — already background-checked, site-inducted, and trained on the same colour-coded system — is deployed, and the site contact is notified the same morning. Cover is our operational responsibility, not a risk we pass to you.
Do you charge by the hour?
No. Contract cleaning is delivered to a defined scope on a fixed monthly fee, paid by Direct Debit, with an annual indexed review. Hourly pricing is for ad-hoc and domestic work. The fixed fee covers the named cleaner, the named relief, agreed consumables and equipment, and management of the contract.
Can you take over our current cleaning contract?
Yes. When a cleaning contract changes hands the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 (TUPE) almost always apply, and the incumbent's staff transfer to us on their existing terms. We handle TUPE consultation and the Employee Liability Information process properly, so switching provider is low-risk and the people who know your site stay on it.
